#V4Ltip Campaign
While working for Vapor4Life, I created a few different hashtag campaigns as part of our overall social media strategy. #V4Ltip is one of my favorites. This hashtag campaign was made to engage customers, get them talking, and sharing their tips for people new to electronic cigarettes and vaping. I wrote tips of my own, created images for them, and posted them on Facebook, Twitter, and the E-Cigarette Forum. I also wrote a blog post including all the tips, which I shared along with the images. I asked customers to share their tips with us, and as they did, I added them to the blog post.
I came up with the hashtag “#V4Ltip” for a few different reasons. This campaign is about vaping tips, so I wanted the word "tip" included. Secondly, I wanted to brand the hashtag with our name (V4L is short for Vapor4Life) to increase brand awareness and let people know we started it. It was also important to create a hashtag with as few characters as possible while getting the point across. "#V4Ltip" is short and makes sense.
Goal: Increase community engagement and brand awareness
Results: 59 likes and 17 comments on Facebook, 27 retweets and 29 favorites on Twitter, 7 tips suggested by community

V4L's tips for new vapers
Are you new to the ecig world? Welcome! Here’s a list of our favorite tips for vapers that include everything from ecigarette batteries, to nicotine strength, and vapor flavors. We consider these key to making a successful switch!
Vape tip #1: Always carry an extra battery
You don’t want to be left without a charged ecig battery. It’s good to keep a spare in case yours dies. Or if you’re out and about and someone wants to try vaping you can lend them the spare for a minute.
Vape tip #2: Keep an extra battery at work
If you leave your battery at home, it could be a long work day without a vape. You don’t want any reasons to pick up a cigarette, so stay prepared by keeping an extra at work!
Vape tip #3: Keep an extra battery in your car
Forget your PV at home? Not to worry, just use the backup you have in your car. Just be careful not to store batts them in extreme temps!
Vape tip #4: Create your own blend by mixing flavors together
Although we’ve got over 160 flavors to choose from, you can still create even more. Mix two or more vape flavors together and make your own blend!
Vape tip #5: If you get cravings, increase your nicotine strength
Finding the right nicotine level is important to keep on vaping and stay away from the cigs. However, you might find you need a higher strength depending on the flavor, or even your mood. If you find that your vape isn’t cutting it, and you’re still tempted to smoke, increase your nicotine level.
Vape tip #6: Clean your batteries weekly for best performance
The best way to keep your batts working right is to give them a good scrubbing every week. First remove them from the charger or take the cartomizer off. Then use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean the threading where the battery meets the cartomizer (or tank). Then make sure it dries completely before reusing.
Vape tip #7: Experiment with different setups
There are tons of different batteries and mods, EGOs, and cig-a-likes out there. There are also a lot of choices for the refillable, from pre-filled carts, to clearomizers, tanks, Smileomizers, and atomizers. By trying different setups, you can find the one that works best for you. Besides that, there is always new vaporizers coming out and it’s fun to experiment!
Vape tip #8: Drink lots of water (Thanks to K9Luvr from ECF for suggesting this tip!)
Keep hydrated when vaping. Ecig vapor can dry out your throat, so keep a bottle of water with you and you’re good to go!
Vape tip #9: Learn how to adjust the posts on batteries & carts (Thanks to @Barb_AZ for tweeting this one!)
Ecig not working right? Check the post! The fix could be as simple as raising the metal threading on either the battery or cartomizer. These can get pushed down when screwing on a cart or charger.
Vape tip #10: Find your correct nicotine level (Thanks for the tweet @Mattyryanwalsh!)
When you first begin vaping, try a few different nicotine strengths. You’ll be able to see what works the best for you.
Vape tip #11: Stick with it
Remember, its the analogs that you don’t smoke that count. Sometimes it takes a while to find the set up and liquids that work for you. (Great advice from Amraann via ECF!)
Vape tip #12: Try something new like Doc Popular or Grape
You will be hard pressed to find your cig flavor, so don’t try to match it. Smoke doesn’t taste or feel like flavor. Try something new, and give it an honest try! (Thanks to Mary Kay from ECF for this tip!)
Vape tip #13: Start simple and always keep an extra battery/cartomizer and plenty of juice on hand (Thanks for the tip via ECF av8tor!)
Vape tip #14: Don’t buy cheap batteries, tanks, or juice
You get what you pay for. (dxaxrxc sent us this tip on ECF)
Vape tip #15: Use different colors cartomizers or drip tips for different flavors
You could use a purple tank for grape e-liquid, green for apple-flavored juice, etc. so you can tell them apart easier!
